Ultra rare Italian Spiral Chrome Chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari, 1970s

An extraordinary example of mid-century Italian lighting design, this ultra-rare spiral chrome chandelier by the renowned Gaetano Sciolari for Lightolier (Italy, circa 1968) is a striking synthesis of futurism, elegance, and sculptural minimalism. Crafted during Sciolari’s most influential period, this chandelier showcases his signature style—bold geometry, luxurious materials, and a harmonious blend of form and function.

The chandelier features a dramatic spiral configuration of 30 highly polished chrome cylinders, each terminating in a candelabra socket. The architectural design creates a dynamic play of light and reflection, with the vertical chrome elements cascading in a graceful helix that evokes motion and depth from every angle. Its symmetrical, gravity-defying composition is a masterclass in 1960s Italian modernism and is rarely seen in such pristine condition.

This piece is not only a functional lighting fixture but also a collectible work of art. It embodies the bold innovation of the Space Age era while remaining timelessly sophisticated. Ideal for design connoisseurs or collectors of rare vintage lighting, this chandelier is a museum-worthy statement piece that transforms any interior into a gallery of mid-century elegance.
