Description
Description
A sculptural three-light floor lamp of exceptional mid-century modern design, attributed to Gerald Thurston for Lightolier, Italy, 1954. The composition brings together elegantly proportioned metal shades, finely detailed brass elements and hand-turned beech wood stems finished in black.
The juxtaposition of warm brass, deep black surfaces and refined, architectural forms lends the piece a striking yet understated presence.
Balancing functional lighting with sculptural elegance, the lamp embodies the sophisticated materiality and modernist sensibility of the period. A distinctive collector’s piece, equally at home in a considered contemporary interior or a curated design collection.
