Description
Description
An icon of contemporary British design, this Tom Dixon Base Floor Lamp exemplifies the designer’s mastery of sculptural form and material contrast. Anchored by a distinctive pyramid base and rising through a sharply faceted stem, the lamp is crafted in matte black metal, lending it an architectural presence that is both assertive and refined.
Crowning the composition is a richly toned brass shade, whose warm metallic surface softens the lamp’s geometric rigor with an inviting glow. When illuminated, the brass diffuses light gently, creating an atmosphere that is at once intimate and dramatic, characteristic of Dixon’s approach to functional sculpture.
Rooted in Tom Dixon’s exploration of industrial processes and modernist references, the Base Floor Lamp bridges utilitarian design with high-end decorative appeal. Its bold silhouette makes it a statement piece within both contemporary and eclectic interiors, equally at home in a minimalist living space or as a striking counterpoint within a layered, collected setting.
A confident example of late 20th–early 21st century design, this floor lamp embodies Tom Dixon’s enduring influence on modern lighting, where form, material, and presence.
