Description
An exceptional example of mid-century industrial design, this original 1950s shop fitting lamp by Courtney Pope masterfully combines form and function. Designed in Britain and crafted from polished chrome and solid brass, the piece showcases the utilitarian elegance that defined commercial interiors of the post-war era. The lamp’s clean, minimal lines and contrasting metal finishes give it a refined presence, while the articulating arm and adjustable shade offer purposeful versatility—originally intended for precise task lighting in upscale retail environments.
The mix of chrome’s cool luster with the warmth of aged brass creates a timeless aesthetic that works beautifully in both modern and vintage interiors. Whether mounted over a desk, display cabinet, or reading nook, it serves not just as a functional light source but also as a striking piece of design history. A rare find, this lamp stands as a testament to Courtney Pope’s legacy of quality British manufacturing and stylish, durable design.
