Description

J.C. Peiré Sculptural Ceramic Wall Light, France, 1980s

An extraordinary sculptural wall light by French designer Jean-Claude Peiré, celebrated for his distinctive and unconventional approach to decorative lighting.

Executed in a striking matt black finish, the expressive sculptural form depicts a hand gripping a horizontal fitting, with two opaline globe bulbs positioned at either end. The contrast between the fluid, organic contours of the ceramic sculpture and the simple spherical bulbs creates a wonderfully theatrical composition.

A bold example of French postmodern design, this characterful piece blurs the boundaries between functional lighting and sculptural art. Its irreverent aesthetic and dramatic silhouette make it an exceptional statement addition to a contemporary interior, whether displayed individually or as part of a curated lighting collection.
