Original Tubular Neon ‘Fish & Chips’ Sign, Circa 1970
An exceptional original tubular neon sign dating to circa 1970, celebrating one of Britain’s most enduring cultural institutions. Featuring the unmistakable wording ‘Fish & Chips’, this striking period piece captures the character and visual appeal of traditional British fish and chip shops through the distinctive glow of neon lighting.
Crafted from shaped glass neon tubing, the sign has an authentic retro aesthetic, making it a wonderfully nostalgic yet highly decorative statement piece. Its bold lettering and illuminated form lend themselves beautifully to eclectic interiors, contemporary commercial spaces, bars, restaurants or curated design collections.
A distinctive piece of British commercial signage from the early 1970s, combining nostalgic charm with enduring graphic appeal. Equally compelling switched on or displayed as a sculptural object, this original neon sign is a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of everyday British design history.
