Original Series 8 Big Brother Illuminated Neon Chair, Rare British Television Collectable

Original Series 8 Big Brother Neon Chair

A striking piece of British television history, this extraordinary illuminated chair was created for Series 8 of Big Brother, featuring the unmistakable futuristic aesthetic synonymous with the show.

Designed and made by the same creative team responsible for the iconic Big Brother chair, this spectacular piece combines a sculptural form with transparent panels, a black base and brilliantly illuminated neon tubing in crisp white and yellow. The result is a bold, theatrical design that blurs the boundaries between functional furniture, lighting and collectible design.

Remarkably rare, the chairs were produced for two television productions: one for the Big Brother house and another for The Friday Night Project with Alan Carr. Its distinctive construction and instantly recognisable visual identity make it a fascinating piece of television memorabilia and an exceptional statement piece for a contemporary interior.

An extraordinary opportunity to acquire a unique piece of British pop-culture history, offered by Interior Modern.

Condition Report

The neon lighting is in good condition, presenting beautifully and retaining its striking visual impact. The Perspex panels show signs of wear consistent with the chair’s age, use and television history, including surface scratches, scuffs and a few splits. These imperfections are in keeping with a piece that has been used in a working television environment rather than preserved purely for display.

This is an authentic piece of television history that has clearly seen plenty of action — and, quite possibly, a few very famous bottoms! Its signs of use form part of its story and add to its character and provenance.
