Description

Ateljé Lyktan AB (Sweden)

Model 8012 Chrome Arc Table Lamp with Matte Black Arm, circa 1970

A refined example of Scandinavian modern lighting, the Model 8012 table lamp by Ateljé Lyktan AB captures the clean, functional elegance that defined Swedish design in the late 20th century. Dating to circa 1970, this striking piece pairs a sleek chrome arc shade with a contrasting matte black arm, creating a sculptural silhouette that is both minimalist and visually dynamic.

The gracefully curved chrome shade reflects light with a soft, ambient glow, while the slender black arm provides a bold architectural counterpoint. The lamp is anchored by a stable base, allowing the arcing form to extend outward with balance and poise—ideal for desks, side tables, or reading nooks.

Notably, the lamp retains its original flip switch, discreetly attached to the back of the chrome shade, an authentic detail that enhances both its functionality and collectible appeal. This thoughtful placement underscores the design’s emphasis on simplicity and user-friendly operation.

A timeless piece of Scandinavian modernism, the Model 8012 exemplifies Ateljé Lyktan’s commitment to quality craftsmanship, innovative form, and enduring style.
